First of all, my names Angela, so what do I say, other than when Kevin, told me that he had just been asked by a neighbour, I can't recall he had he ever thought about joining the Mason's - To be honest I laughed and told him not to be stupid....What do you want to do that for? he had never mentioned an interest before. Well since joining in 2015, he has really thrown himself into it. Peace at last I get Tuesday nights peace and quiet....Well not quite, there are nights I can hear him talking to the dogs, learning his ritual, heavens only knows what the locals who walk their dogs in the park must think, as he is always reciting his words whilst picking up what dogs do best!!! As for me I was sceptical at first but, once I found out that on "Festive Board Nights " the wife's and ladies of the lodge go out for a meal and have a good chin wag and plot how to improve the lodge. It is nice to talk to other wives and just be girls together. The annual Ladies Night is one where the husbands show their appreciation to the Real Power behind every thriving and good Lodge. Masonry is for is perceived to be for the men but, hey we ladies do have some fun times....oh the scandals we hear about. No scratch that last bit, its all about getting together and taking part in in a whole new world like no other. All I can say since 2015 when he first joined Kevin has gone from strength to strength ~ there have been some times when it has been a struggle as in all things there are those who do and then there are those who are happy to sit on the side, each to there own. you only get out what you put in. Well I believe Kevin must have being doing something right as he became the Worshipful Master for Cockburn Lodge for 2021 ~ 2022 the first Master after the trials of the "Covid Years". Time does fly, so where to next I wonder Angela Crossland
